Mill
The Barn set in a five-acre site on the edge of Happy Valley and the Northumberland National
Park, approximately four and a half miles south from the market town of Wooler and two hours
drive to Edinburgh or Newcastle.
Being in a steep valley Colgate Mill can be very cold in the winter but far enough inland to
avoid the annoying sea fret which can plague the north-east coast in the summer
months.
This is an ideal base to walk in the Cheviots hills, visit the Scottish Borders, Alnwick,
Bamburgh, Holy Island and the beautiful coastline of Northumberland.
The Barn was original built (circa 1790) to house livestock for the adjacent Colgate Mill corn
mill. This is a relatively remote location with plenty of wildlife and a mill stream running
through the grounds.
The property and grounds are owned and maintained by us, as Colgate Mill our home we are
generally around should the need arise.
